More years ago, than I care to remember, I met Ricky. I didn’t, at that time, know his real name. In chatting I talked about doing the “Blindfold Drive”. He told me that he had published an effect that looked for all the world like the blindfold effect Kuda Bux did on stage and other places. I was later to become a close friend of Kuda’s and though Ricky’s was close it was not that close. However only a magician or mentalist would know the difference, not the audience.

In 1954, in Bryan, Texas I had my first chance to try Ricky’s effect. He had said that he had given it to Lou Tannen of Tannen’s Magic in NYC. So I contacted Lou and bought the effect. Percy Abbott printed up the whole affair in his Tops Magazine (April 1954). I couldn’t have asked for a better effect. Over the years I’ve made some slight changes to Ricky’s basic effect. Overall, I feel they have added not taken away!

Therefore, I have decided to put out the instructions only, with no supplies, but with the updates that I have added. The reader must know that these are real additions and work under performance conditions!

It’s been off the market for a number of years. In fact, a request to Tannen this year, 2013, brought an answer that though they still listed it in their catalog they could not find the instructions.
