Though I had learned from friends such as Bob Nelson and Fogel, my show still lacked a Q&A segment. I had a problem remembering facts and had steered clear of the one thing that made, so the pros all said a first-rate Mental Act, Q&A!
After leaving the Air Force in the mid-’50s, I contacted Burling. By that time, he had moved to Deland, Florida, and was fully retired. In one of the exchanges by letter, he talked of his “Night Club Act” and drew a simple outline of his card (Hull Card). With no idea of how to use it, I developed my handling. Since then, I’ve learned that most handle the card do it about as I did and do.
We here at Carlyle Touch have Designed a ‘generic’ Hull card. Since they have no personal information printed on them, anyone may use them.
